Fortis: Guild Ranks

Guild Ranks
Recruit
There are various numbers of recruit slots available in Fortis at any given time. When an applicant is tagged into Fortis as a recruit, a post goes up in Recruit Discussion in the members section of the forums where the members are allowed to comment on a recruit’s performance and attitude. A recruit must be in Fortis for a minimum of one month. After that month, the recruit is put up to a vote involving officers and veteran members. The order in which applicants are selected for new recruit slots is determined by many factors, not necessarily just by who was first. We take into account class needs, raid attendance, and how well the applicant is getting along with existing members.

Member

Once voting is finalized and the recruit has obtained a majority of yes votes with no officer veto, the recruit is promoted to full member status. The majority of Fortis is composed of full members. Members have the advantage of being able to fully utilize the guild bank for DKP purchases and donations, and receiving priority in all raid drops.

Provisional Member
Long time members in good standing but unable to meet the raid requirement can apply to be a Provisional Member. In addition, returning members, if the respective class is full and there are no open recruit slots, can rejoin Fortis as a provisional member until such time as a slot opens. Provisional status is at the sole discretion of the officers and determined on a case by case basis. Provisional members must achieve at least 4 raid hours every 2 weeks, have loot restrictions in raids, and may be asked to leave the raid for a full member. Provisional members still earn full DKP. Only around 5 members will be allowed to be on provisional status at a time.

For players going from full member to provisional, the player must return to full raiding after a period of time or be moved to inactive status.

For returning full members, the player is allowed to stay in provisional status until a recruit slot opens up for the respective class and the player’s gear is considered good enough to contribute to a raid in the recruit slot.

Inactive Member

Members unable to meet the minimum raiding requirement for an extended period of time are moved to inactive status. Inactive members are allowed to stay in the guild, but do not have to meet any raiding requirement, cannot earn DKP, and cannot purchase items from raids or from the guild bank. Inactive members who wish to return to full member status are required to reapply for a raid spot and complete a new recruit 30 day period. If there are not any available slots at that time, they will be moved to provisional status upon recruit officer approval until a recruit slot opens up in the respective class.

Inactive status is at the sole discretion of the officers and determined and facilitated on a case by case basis through communication with the membership officer.

Lack of proper communication in a timely manner regarding provisional/inactive membership status requests can be viewed as voluntary guild resignation.

Guest Member

Individuals who have strong ties to the current raiding roster through either family relationships or long standing friendships may be allowed to join under a Guest tag after completing the Guest Application process. Guest members do not have any DKP earning/spending privelges, nor are they eligible to utilize the Guild Bank for purchases.

Guests may be eligible for open spots in raids on off nights or during regular raiding nights based on class make up and Raid Leader approval and will need to be familiar with the loot rules as they are not eligible to participate in bidding for drops.

Due to the nature of this rank, Guests who are found to be overly disruptive during raid times or who do not represent Fortis standards in server wide interaction will be subject to immediate removal.

Class Advisor
Class Advisors are long-standing guild members who show exceptional skill and knowledge in their class. CAs maintain relationships with all members of the given class, as well as all recruits, and monitor performance and sometimes direct specific roles in raids. CAs also serve as a link between members, raid leaders, and officers in terms of performance, attitude, and guild policy.

Raid Leader

The raid leader is a member that runs Fortis raids. He or she assists in tracking any recruits and members who need attunements and keys in order to raid with Fortis. Raid Leaders also help new recruits get up to speed with Ventrilo and required raid mods and communicates with the Class Advisors and the Council regarding individual performance of members in raids as needed. Raid Leaders use Vent to direct guild raids and research upcoming encounters and strategies, as well as supply information on gear or supplies needed for future raids.

Officer - Council Member
There are several council members who act as advisors and councilors to the guild leadership. The Council and guild officers work together to set guild policy and rules regarding issues such as DKP, loot and recruitment process. Council members are long standing members of the guild with a history of acting in the best interest of Fortis as well as maintaining positive relationships with other guilds.

All officers are considered council members. When the guild is in need of a new council member, a WANTED ad is posted in the members forum. All members interested in applying post an application in the recruit discussion forum. Applicants must have at least 2 vouches in order to be considered for the position.

Officer – Recruit Officer - Council Member
The recruit officer keeps up with the applications, copies them into the recruit discussion forum, sets up recruit voting posts, and sets appropriate permissions for applicants, recruits, and members in the forums. The recruit officer also manages the process of a member switching his or her declared main.

Officer – Membership Officer - Council Member
The membership officer reviews raid attendance and monitors for those who are falling under the minimum time required. He or she also verifies that what is logged on the raid report is accurate for both raid attendance and DKP earned and spent. The membership officer also manages requests for provisional membership and maintains communication with members on inactive status. He or she works with Class Advisors if probation is required for membership.

Officer - Bank Officer - Council Member
The bank officer manages and tracks the guild bank. He or she sets DKP prices for items, sells overstocked items, and manages consumables to be passed out in raids (elixirs, flasks, tokens). The bank officer also manages the DKP roster on raids and facilitates bidding on items.

Loot Council Members
Loot Council consisting of Officers/RL's/CA's and 2 elected Loot Council members. Loot council will be used ONLY on the occasion that an item is under dispute between 2 or more members, and will be used to determine who the most in need/deserving member will be awarded the item in question.
DKP will remain as the primary factor for attendance/check & balance of loot awarded
Loot Council members will be changed on a rolling 3 month basis and will be subject to standard guild leadership election rules. Loot Council members will not have term restrictions and must maintain active raiding status during their tenure.

Officer - Council Facilitator

The Council Facilitator is head of the council members. It is the Council Facilitator's job to continually move the guild forward, resolve disputes among officers, maintain positive relationships with other guilds, and speed up decisions on direction and general guild policy.
